Visiting the Louvre

There are at least a million attractions to take in when visiting France, especially if you’re in Paris. But of the many options you’ll have while there, the Louvre is one you can’t pass up. It’s quite possibly the world’s greatest and most famous art museum and many would consider it a piece of art itself.

If you want to visit Le Louvre, you’ll have no problem finding it. Just follow about every other tourist in the city. The problem, of course, is that with that many people going, you’ll be in a line for a very long time.

This is why it helps to sign up for one of the many Paris tours available. There are several that will let you skip the line for a very affordable price. That alone is worth whatever they charge. But unless you were an art major, it will go a long way when you’re inside too and they’re showing you around, explaining the history of the museum and interesting details about many of the pieces.

Best of all, when you leave the Louvre, you’ll have a tourist group that can take you on to the next stop.

While it probably goes without saying, you’ll want to bring a camera to the Louvre though keep an eye out for signs that let you know when photography isn’t allowed. If nothing else, taking pictures of the building itself will be worth it.
